Yeah, about that sketchbook.

It seems that because of a series of unfortunate events and a heavy workload, finishing Arthouse Co-op's Sketchbook Project by January 15 is nearing the impossible. The extremely impossible. My over thinking was to blame. Partly. Ink prints and collage, tsk tsk. It was too much in too little time. So far I figure I've put in close to 80+ hours and am about 60% done. So, thinking about what I've done and what I have left and the time I have left to do it, it appears that mine won't be making the tour. On the one hand, I'm extremely upset it ended up this way and won't make it to Austin, Brooklyn, etc. But on the other hand, the sketchbook has become something more elaborate that will work as an exhibit/portfolio piece. It's not a winning situation, but not necessarily a losing one either. However, it's a big downer that the blog friends out there who would have a chance to see it, won't be able to tell me what they think. Anyway, here are a couple more images from the book that just won't be.

But hey, The Beatles are now on iTunes. That's something, right? *sarcasm*

Hey Man, You win some you lose some. Time is such a precious thing. I don't think you missed it at all. I think you have put some things into this sketch book that are going to really benefit you with lots of creativity and growth. Something are just not meant to be. Not that it's a bad thing, but timing you know. I love what you have put out. It looks delicious and fabulous! You should be proud of yourself. I believe some good things are going to come from this.
There is always next year.
Have a wonderful Turkey day.

Donny - you are SO right though - this will be a fantastic exhibit/portfolio piece...definitely so worthwhile, all of your efforts. I'm sure it's amazing right now. In fact you can probably frame most of the pieces and put it into an exhibit right? I must say that although I will miss seeing it in person, I know that this sketchbook was meant for something more important...for you to discover your process, your talents and abilities and for you to be able to see that it is something bigger than you had intended. I say that that's a huge WIN! So kudos to you! Perhaps we'll see it at a gallery like Nucleus someday! : )

hey!
you should definitely send it! It is too beautifully done...! It is ok if it is not finished, I myself could not finish it completely, but that is not the point right? And the deadline was extended and they said they will try their best to accommodate it in the tour if it is sent a little late!

I wish I could see all the sketchbooks, but brooklyn is halfway across the world for me...

I do hope that you have sent it anyway,

good luck
